This site is dedicated to online publishing of articles and books on subjects relevant to the Society’s objective to “promote the study and publication of archaeology and history in all their branches, especially within the ancient county of Kent”. All publications on the site come under the remit of the Society’s Editor, supported by his Editorial Advisors.

The second major function of the site is to carry databases of the Society’s collections and other material thought to be of interest to researchers and to all who are interested in the Archaeology and History of Kent

The Kent Archaeological Society was founded in 1857 at Mereworth Castle. The Society’s Library is housed in the Maidstone Museum, and its collections of artefacts are stored in and displayed by the Museum, together with the Museum’s own holdings.

Detailed information on the Society and its activities, including members research, will be found at www.kentarchaeology.org.uk
